John, Paul, George & Ben

Written and Illustrated by Lane Smith

  1. John, Paul, George & Ben tells the stories of five young boys including the independent Thomas Jefferson who grow up to be some of America’s most well-loved founding fathers. Each vignette is a caricature of a famous attribute or myth about John Hancock, Paul Revere, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson. Each highlights the myths and legends surrounding these famous Americans, and connects the legends with their very real accomplishments.

This book is a California Young Readers' Medal nomimee for 2010-2011. Lane Smith is also the illustrator of the well-known picture book, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.
